Merry Christmas!

" Don't try to explain the Incarnation to me. It is further from being explainable than the furthest galaxy. It is love, God's limitless love enfleshing that love into the form of a human being, Jesus, the Christ, fully human and fully divine.
Was there a moment, known only to God, when the galaxies paused in their dance for a fraction of a second, and the Word, who had called it all into being, went with all his love into the womb of a young girl, and the universe started to breathe again, and the ancient harmonies resumed their song, and the angels clapped their hands for joy?
Power. Greater than we can imagine, abandoned, as the Word knew the powerlessness of the unborn child, still unformed, taking up almost no space in the great ocean of amniotic fluid, unseeing, unhearing, unknowing. Slowly growing, as any human embryo grows, arms and legs and a head, eyes, mouth, nose, slowly swimming into life until the ocean in the womb is no longer large enough, and it is time for birth.
Christ, the Second Person of the Trinity, Christ, the Maker of the universe or perhaps many universes, willingly and lovingly leaving all that power and coming to this poor, sin-filled planet to live with us for a few years to show us what we ought to be and could be.
Christ came to us as Jesus of Nazareth, wholly human and wholly divine, to show us what it means to be made in God's image."

If all he got from Santa this year....
was this:

from here:
http://www.easyflo.com/
My husband would be one happy guy! He seems to think that our cleaning lady accidentally took it home a few weeks ago and has not brought it back. I really think it got rolled up in the old carpet we threw away in jax's room. Either way, its disappearance bothers him enough to bring it up daily.
I sure hope Santa can spare the 4 dollars..........

Our first snow this year.....
that stuck! We got right out in it as soon as we could during Olivia's morning nap. Jr was more interesting in re-enacting the snowball fight from a Spongebob episode - but Jax and I attempted to make a snowman mowman to show dad when he got home from his last day of work! Not too bad for a Florida girl eh?

and a few pics of the house decorated for the holidays. We are almost done! We have a few more garlands to put up on the fireplace and stairway, some lights to put behind the soldiers on the pillars, and the lights on the boy's tree still needs an extension cord. Other than that I think we are ready to parteeeeee! :0) The pics of the trees did not turn out well at all - I will post some of those later when I try again.

Chicago Birthday Pics......
Not many one year olds get to celebrate their first birthday both at home with friends and family AND also in the big city! Olivia had her first trip to Neiman's (yum yum popovers!) and then a special birthday tour of the American Girl Store. (I bought her a bitty baby for Christmas. Shhhh dont tell her!)
The sweet baby girl all ready for the big day!

The beautiful view of the water from our hotel suite.

Posing with mom while all bundled for the blustery weather.

Yum Food!

Chilling with dad at the end of a long day!

More Chicago trip pics to come!
