"Our" Lily Faith
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived, what God has prepared for those who love Him."
I Corinthians 2:9
Wow, a lot of time has passed since I last blogged! I am making a commitment tonight to blog more. I look back on this online journal and love seeing where our family was and how much we have grown since then. I regret all the "holes" in the big picture. Years? Has it really been that long since I have posted? Time has flown.
And in that time, my mother, whose struggle with colon cancer I journaled about regularly on here, has passed away. That has been, to put it mildly, so. so. hard for me.
I have tried before to start posting again and I have failed. I won't fail this time. Previously, I had blogged so my family could keep up with my kids and our day to day lives. I think after my mother died, I lost my zeal, as I did not see the purpose. But, I have a new purpose now.
How can you be sure this time will be different? Ya gotta have faith-ah faith-ah faith-ah! :0)

Back by popular demand...Happy Fall Y'all!
Well, I consider my husband pretty popular :0) After a long hiatus, (has it really been almost two years!?) I have decided to get back to blogging. Mainly because it has been a great way for me to organize our family pictures and memories. My husband has been looking back through each post with our kids recently, showing them what they looked like and the things we did when they were younger, and we realized how nice it was to have these memories here.
A lot has happened since my last post. I will share more about some of those things later. For now I wanted to post some pictures of our trip last weekend where we picked apples and pumpkins at a local orchard. Our oldest child was away at a birthday party so we were short one kid.
It was a beautiful day and there were many families out picking apples. We started out towards the Red Delicious apples, first.
Out in the pumpkin patch, Jackson found a cherry tomato plant.
Olivia and he enjoyed them straight off the vine while looking for the perfect pumpkin to call their own.
We ended up with quite the assortment of gourds and pumpkins. We used them, with some Mums, in a Fall display on our front porch.
Olivia helping Daddy check out after a long day of picking.
While Jackson took the time to check himself out in the mirror. :0)
Can you blame him? He is one handsome dude.

Olivia meets a bottle of purple nail polish....
The offending material with the culprit's fingerprints all over it:

her showing me her pretty nails.... I have to admit she did get some on her fingernails and toenails - pretty good fine motor skills for a 22 month old.

she knows that she is in trouble!

this is where she apparently tried to polish her nails - the carpet in the master bedroom. Now is the time to be grateful for neighbors who own a carpet business..

and after searching all over for the bottle of polish - this is where we finally found it. It was apparently thrown open onto the bed when she was finished polishing her nails on the floor.

and on the counter awaiting clean up she shows off her artistry-

and what she looks like all cleaned up - Not as happy for some reason!

It was all over the walls coming down the hall out of the bedroom and on the tile floor and grout too. We were able to clean most of it in the bathroom sans some purplish color that now resides in some of the grout lines. The walls came off easily with Goof Off for painted finishes - love this stuff! I tried it on the carpet to no avail however, and finger nail polish remover just made the areas worse. The comforter is in the wash after a douse with polish remover. I don't think it is going to make it. I am not even going to bother with the sheets.
A lessoned learned for us all for certain.
